It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The superiority of the learned person over the devout worshipper is like that of the moon over the rest of the stars. Indeed, the people of knowledge are the heirs of the noble Prophets; they did not leave behind dirhams and dinars as inheritance, rather they left knowledge. So whoever acquires knowledge has taken a full share from the Prophetic inheritance.”
