Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My house is far from the mosque, and I am also blind, yet I hear the call to prayer (adhan). (So can I pray at home?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you hear the adhan, then respond to it, even if you have to come crawling on your buttocks or sliding on your hips.
