Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform only two rak‘ahs of prayer during travel, but he would offer Tahajjud at night. Jabir asked Salim: Did (the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and Sayyiduna Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him) perform Witr during travel? He replied: Yes.
