بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي سَبَبِهَا وَجَوَازِ فِعْلِهَا جَمَاعَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِChapter on Its Reason and the Permissibility of Performing It in Congregation in the Mosque
Hadith 2237

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ وَفِيهِ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! صَلَّيْتَ وَنَحْنُ نُحِبُّ أَنْ تَمُدَّ فِي صَلَاتِكَ، قَالَ: ((قَدْ عَلِمْتُ بِمَكَانِكُمْ وَعَمْدًا فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ))
(Third chain) It is mentioned in this that the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! You were praying and we wished that you would lead a long prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I was aware of you and I did so intentionally.
