عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْوِتْرِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to perform two rak‘ahs sitting after the Witr prayer.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … With one salam, a maximum of nine witr are established. When a worshipper performs seven or nine witr with one salam, he will sit for the middle tashahhud after the sixth or eighth rak‘ah, then he will perform the seventh or ninth rak‘ah. At the beginning of these chapters, we have already presented a summary of all these matters along with their evidences.
