عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوْتِرُ بِسَبْعٍ وَبِخَمْسٍ لَا يُفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُنَّ بِسَلَامٍ وَلَا بِكَلَامٍ
Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to perform seven and five rak'ahs of Witr, and he would not separate them with salam or speech.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From these ahadith it is established that performing five rak‘ahs of witr is a Sunnah act, provided that these rak‘ahs are performed with one salam and without the middle tashahhud.
