بَابُ الْوِتْرِ بِرَكْعَةٍ وَبِثَلَاثٍ وَخَمْسٍ وَسَبْعٍ وَتِسْعٍ بِسَلَامٍ وَاحِدٍ وَمَا يَتَقَدَّمُهَا مِنَ الشَّفْعِChapter on Witr with One, Three, Five, Seven, or Nine Units with One Salam, and What Precedes It of Even Units
Hadith 2204

عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((أَوْتِرْ بِخَمْسٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَبِثَلَاثٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَبِوَاحِدَةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَأَوْمِئْ إِيمَاءً))
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then offer five rak‘ahs of Witr, if you do not have the strength for that, then offer three, if you are not able to do even that, then offer one, and if you do not have the ability for even that, then perform it by making gestures.
