بَابُ الْوِتْرِ بِرَكْعَةٍ وَبِثَلَاثٍ وَخَمْسٍ وَسَبْعٍ وَتِسْعٍ بِسَلَامٍ وَاحِدٍ وَمَا يَتَقَدَّمُهَا مِنَ الشَّفْعِChapter on Witr with One, Three, Five, Seven, or Nine Units with One Salam, and What Precedes It of Even Units
Hadith 2203

عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ، فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ))، وَسَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ))
Abu Majliz says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) about Witr, so he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: There is one rak'ah in the last part of the night. Then I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is one rak'ah in the last part of the night.
