Hadith 2172

عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ فَمَنْ لَمْ يُوْتِرْ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا))، قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا
Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said three times: Witr is obligatory; whoever does not perform Witr is not one of us.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … We have quoted the ruling of both these ahadith from (Irwa’ al-Ghalil: 2/147). Shaykh Shu‘ayb al-Arna’ut has declared it hasan li-ghayrihi, but the weakness of the first hadith is severe.
