بَابُ مَا رُوِيَ عَنْ غَيْرِهِمَا فِي صِفَةِ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْChapter on What is Narrated from Others Regarding the Description of the Prophet’s Prayer
Hadith 2165

وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ التَّطَوُّعِ ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَبِالنَّهَارِ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform eight units of voluntary prayer at night and twelve units during the day.
