بَابُ مَا رُوِيَ عَنْ غَيْرِهِمَا فِي صِفَةِ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْChapter on What is Narrated from Others Regarding the Description of the Prophet’s Prayer
Hadith 2164

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform sixteen rak‘ahs at night in addition to the obligatory prayer.
