Hadith 2158

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ فَلْيَبْدَأْ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ فَلْيَفْتَتِحْ صَلَاتَهُ) بِرَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any one of you stands to pray at night, he should begin his standing with two light rak‘ahs.
