Hadith 2157

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((الصَّلَاةُ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَتَشَهَّدُ وَتُسَلِّمُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، … )) الحديث بنحو ما تقدم
(The third chain) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Prayer is in sets of two rak‘ahs, and you should sit for tashahhud after every two rak‘ahs and say salam, … .) Then a hadith similar to the previous one was narrated.

Benefits: … This narration is indeed weak; however, the rulings regarding the tashahhud and other supplications after the two rak‘ahs are clear.
