Hadith 2152

(Second chain) Ibrahim says: I asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: I did not see him giving preference to one night over another night.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The narration with the second chain is weak, but this hadith of Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha serves as corroboration that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not perform more than eleven rak‘ahs of night prayer (qiyam) in Ramadan or outside of Ramadan. (Bukhari: 1147, 2013; Muslim: 738) That is, for the most part, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam’s night prayer consisted of eleven rak‘ahs. As for the manner (quality) of the night prayer, there would be variation in it; sometimes the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would stand for a long time, and at other times he would not prolong it as much. However, in the last ten days of Ramadan, he would exert himself the most in this matter.
