Hadith Takhrij«أخرجه مسلم: 767 ، (انظر مسند أحمد ترقيم الرسالة: 24017 ترقیم بيت الأفكار الدولية: 24518»
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These two rak‘ahs are a prelude to the night prayer (qiyam al-layl). Through them, the worshipper becomes prepared and energized for standing (in prayer). In the following blessed hadith, there is also an instruction to perform two rak‘ahs in this manner: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “When one of you stands to pray at night, let him begin his prayer with two light rak‘ahs.” (Muslim: 768)
