Abu al-Khair says: I saw Abu Tamim Abdullah bin Malik Jaishani praying two rak‘ahs as soon as he heard the adhan of Maghrib. Seeing this, I went to Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him: Shall I not amaze you by telling you about Abu Tamim Jaishani? He prays two rak‘ahs before the Maghrib prayer, and I wish to criticize him for it. Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Beware! We used to pray this prayer during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: Then what prevents you now? He said: Occupation (busyness).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Even today, there are people who completely avoid performing two rak‘ahs before Maghrib prayer and criticize those who do so for this reason. Such people should remember the response of Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir radi Allahu anhu. This is the justice and fairness of the noble Companions (Sahabah kiram), that they do not allow any harm to come to the hadith of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
