Hadith 2049

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حِينَ يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ وَيُنَادِي الْمُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ (أَحَدُ الرُّوَاةِ) أُرَاهُ قَالَ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي بَيْتِهِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I performed two rak‘ahs with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before Zuhr, two rak‘ahs after it, two rak‘ahs at home after Maghrib, and two rak‘ahs at home after ‘Isha. And Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) informed me that when Fajr would dawn and the muezzin would call the adhan for prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform two light rak‘ahs, and after Jumu‘ah he would perform two rak‘ahs at home.
