Hadith 2047

وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ التَّطَوُّعِ ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَبِالنَّهَارِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً
And it is also narrated from him, he said: The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform eight rak'ahs of nawafil at night and twelve rak'ahs during the day.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the narrations authentically transmitted from Abu Ishaq with sound chains, there is mention of sixteen units (rak‘at) of voluntary (nafl) prayer during the day, as has already been discussed in Hadith number (935).
