It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs prayer in the mosque, then returns to his home, he should perform two rak'ahs in his house. A servant should continue to offer voluntary prayers in his house, because Allah Almighty sends goodness and blessings upon his house due to his prayer.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Through the remembrance of Allah, blessings descend upon homes, and prayer (salah) is the greatest means of remembering Allah. In several ahadith, encouragement has been given to perform prayers in the home; by this is meant voluntary (nafl) prayers, so that goodness and blessings may descend upon the homes, the angels of mercy may come down, deeds may remain concealed, and the danger of showing off (riya) may be reduced.
