It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed a prostration in the first rak'ah of the Zuhr prayer. The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) thought that he had recited Surah As-Sajdah. The narrator of the hadith, Sulaiman Taimi, said: I did not hear this hadith from Abu Majliz.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Without any doubt, if the imam recites a verse containing a prostration of recitation (sajdah al-tilawah) during a silent prayer, then he will perform the prostration of recitation. As for the issue of the followers (muqtadis), the general evidences regarding following and emulating the imam indicate that they too will perform the prostration along with the imam. And Allah knows best what is correct.
