(Second chain) Ibn Las Khuza'i says: Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the mosque and performed two rak'ahs of prayer; they were very light, but also complete. Then he sat down, and we stood up and sat near him. We said: Abu al-Yaqzan! You performed those two rak'ahs lightly? He said: Yes, I performed them before Satan could enter within me. Then he mentioned a similar hadith.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The purpose of the statement of Sayyiduna Ammar radi Allahu anhu is that although he performed the prayer briefly, he did so with complete concentration. Had he prolonged it, it was possible that Shaytan might have distracted him with other thoughts. However, the reality is that in our Shari‘ah, prolonged standing (qiyam) in prayer is a beloved act, and to safeguard oneself from the whisperings of Shaytan during prayer, the method taught by you, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, will be mentioned in the next blessed hadith.
