عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى وَهِي مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: أَلَيْسَ هُنَّ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ وَأَخَوَاتِكُمْ وَعَمَّاتِكُمْ
It is also narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray while she was lying in front of him. Hazrat Urwah said: Are these women not your mothers, sisters, and paternal aunts?
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning derived from the wording of the hadith is that every woman is either someone’s mother, maternal aunt, or paternal aunt; therefore, if such women lie down in front of a person performing prayer, the prayer is not affected.
