Hadith 1960

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, prayed in a striped Yemeni sheet. I think that he, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, had tied a knot between its two ends.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … What is meant by tying a knot between the two edges is "tawshih," which is defined as taking one edge of the garment from under the left hand and placing it over the right shoulder, and the other edge from under the right and placing it over the left shoulder, then joining both edges together and tying a knot on the chest. The complete discussion regarding clothing that covers the private parts has already been mentioned in the chapters concerning the covering of the private parts.
