It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer in such a state that Sayyida Umamah bint Zainab bint Nabi Kareem (may Allah be pleased with her) was on his neck, and she was the daughter of Abu al-As bin Rabi’. When he would bow (ruku’), he would put her down, and when he would stand up after prostration (sajdah), he would lift her onto his neck again. ‘Amir says: I did not ask ‘Amr bin Salim which prayer it was. Ibn Jurayj says: I was informed by Zayd bin Abi ‘Atab that it was the Fajr prayer. Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman said: Ibn Jurayj considered the narration mentioning (the Fajr prayer) to be sound.
