بَابُ نَهْيِ الْمُصَلِّي عَنِ التَّنَخُّمِ جِهَةَ الْإِمَامِ أَوْ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الِاخْتِصَارِ فِي الصَّلَاةِChapter on Prohibiting the Worshipper from Spitting Toward the Imam or the Right, and from Praying with Arms Akimbo
Hadith 1937

عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: نُهِيَ عَنْ الْاِخْتِصَارِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، قَالَ: قُلْنَا لِهِشَامٍ: مَا الْاِخْتِصَارُ؟ قَالَ: يَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى خَصْرِهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، قَالَ يَزِيدُ: قُلْنَا لِهِشَامٍ: ذَكَرَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ بِرَأْسِهِ: نَعَمْ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Making shortcuts in prayer has been prohibited. The narrator said: We asked Hisham, "What is making shortcuts?" He said: It is when a person prays with his hands placed on his waist. Yazid said: We asked Hisham whether he mentioned this from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)? He nodded his head in affirmation.
