Hadith 1922

عَنْ أَبِي أَمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((لَا يَأْتِ أَحَدُكُمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَهُوَ حَاقِنٌ وَلَا يَدْخُلْ بَيْتًا إِلَّا بِإِذْنٍ، وَلَا يَؤُمَّنَّ إِمَامٌ قَوْمًا فَيَخُصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِدَعْوَةٍ دُونَهُمْ))
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: None of you should approach prayer in a state when he is restraining stool or urine, and one should not enter a house without permission, and no imam should lead a people in prayer in such a way that he singles out himself in supplication, leaving them out.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The referent of the last sentence is the situation when the imam is making a collective supplication (du'a) and the followers (muqtadis) are saying "Ameen" to it, such as in Qunoot Nazilah and similar cases.
