Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about touching the pebbles. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do it once, and if you refrain even from that, it is better for you than a hundred black-eyed camels. And if Satan overcomes any one of you, then he should clear it once.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The command of Allah, the Exalted, is: {حَافِظُوْاعَلَیالصَّلَوَاتِوَالصَّلٰوۃِالْوُسْطٰیوَقُوْمُوْالِلّٰہِقَانِتِیْنَ} (Surah al-Baqarah: 238), meaning: Guard your prayers, especially the middle prayer, and stand before Allah in obedience. Humility, submissiveness, and reverence are related both to the heart and mind of the one praying, as well as to his outward body. In prayer, signs of fear and awe should also be apparent on the body, and one should avoid unnecessary movements and actions. Some worshippers, by habit, tend to scratch their heads, fiddle with their beard hairs, put their fingers in their nose, or adjust their clothes and hair. This blessed hadith is a clear proof in this matter that the worshipper should completely refrain from unnecessary movements; however, if there is a genuine need felt, then there is no harm.
