Mawla of the Messenger of Allah, Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade him from praying in such a state that his hair is tied up.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Imam Albani rahimahullah said: It was the natural custom of the ancient Arabs that those who had long hair would gather and tie it together; even now, in some regions, some people do the same. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade doing this during the prayer and ordered that the hair be let loose so that the performance of prostration (sajdah) may be fulfilled in the most complete manner.
