When Janab Wasi’ asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: Whenever you would go down or rise up, you would say Allahu Akbar, then to the right side you would say: As-Salamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah, and to the left side you would say: As-Salamu ‘Alaikum.
