It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: When this verse {إِنَّاللَّہَوَمَلاَئِکَتَہُیُصَلُّوْنَعَلَیالنَّبِیِّ} was revealed, the people said: O Messenger of Allah! How should we send blessings upon you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You should say: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. And bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious." He says: While reciting this salutation, we would also say these words: "And upon us along with them." Yazid, the narrator, says: I could not understand whether these last words were added by Ibn Abi Layla himself or if Sayyiduna Ka'b had actually narrated them.
