عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ طَاوُسًا يَقُولُ: قُلْنَا لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الْإِقْعَاءِ عَلَى الْقَدَمَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: هِيَ السُّنَّةُ، قَالَ: فَقُلْنَا: إِنَّا لَنَرَاهَا جَفَاءً بِالرَّجُلِ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: هِيَ سُنَّةُ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Tawoos says: We asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) about sitting on the feet. He said: This is Sunnah. We said: We used to consider it a sign of a man's harshness and rudeness. He said: This is the Sunnah of your Prophet.
