Sayyiduna Rifa’ah bin Rafi’ Zurqi رضي الله عنه says: One day we were praying behind the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم. When he صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم raised his head from bowing and said, “Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah,” a man behind him said these words: “Rabbana lakal hamdu hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fihi.” When the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم finished, he asked: Who was the one who just now said these words? That man said: O Messenger of Allah! It was I. He صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: Indeed, I saw thirty-four or thirty-five angels rushing towards these words, as to who would write them first.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Despite such a great virtue, the majority of those who pray, overcome by haste and their own habits, are heedless of repeating this phrase.
In the hadith, along with "thirty" (thalathin), the word "bid‘ah" has been used, which can apply to any number from three to nine. Therefore, in our language, the word "chand" (a few) is appropriate to convey the meaning of "bid‘ah"—that is, a few more than thirty angels. (Abdullah Rafiq)
