Hadith 1685

Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer, his bowing (ruku‘), standing up straight after bowing, prostration (sajdah), and sitting between the two prostrations were all nearly equal in duration. (Sahih Bukhari: 792, Sahih Muslim: 471)

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the narration of Sahih Muslim, along with these matters, standing (qiyam) and the testimony (tashahhud) are also mentioned, meaning all these things were of equal length. In any case, we will interpret this situation as pertaining to certain circumstances, because most of the time the standing (qiyam) of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to be lengthy. Similarly, the tashahhud was also longer compared to the bowing (ruku‘), prostration (sujud), standing after bowing (qawmah), and sitting between the two prostrations (jalsah), as the details regarding the recitation in prayers have already been discussed in the relevant chapters.
