Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Imam Abu Dawud said: The meaning of this hadith is that when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would raise his head from bowing (ruku‘) and intended to prostrate (sujud), he would not say "Allahu Akbar," and likewise, when rising from prostration, he would not say the takbir. Imam Bayhaqi said: It is possible that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did say the takbir, but the narrator of this hadith did not hear it, and it is also possible that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not say the takbir in order to show its permissibility (i.e., that it is allowed to omit it). (See: 15352) In any case, this hadith is weak, and in light of several authentic ahadith, the takbirat al-intiqal (the transition takbirs) are transmitted from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
