Hadith 1659

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is pleased to recite the Qur'an fresh as it was revealed, then he should recite according to the recitation of the son of Umm Abd.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud radi Allahu anhu is among the earliest Muslims; in fact, he was the sixth person to embrace Islam. His father passed away during the pre-Islamic era, but his mother lived to witness the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and after accepting Islam, she attained the status of a female Companion (sahabiyyah). For this reason, he is sometimes referred to as Ibn Umm ‘Abd, attributing him to his mother.
