Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I have memorized all the Sunnahs, but I do not know whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite (aloud) in the Zuhr and Asr prayers or not. In any case, we do recite, and I also do not know how he used to recite this verse: {وَقَدْبَلَغْتُمِنْالْکِبَرِعِتِیًّایاعُسِیًّا۔}

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These matters will be attributed to the personal knowledge of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu; his lack of knowledge does not necessitate that these matters did not exist. Whereas other noble Companions have clarified that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to recite (Qur’an) during the standing (qiyam) of Dhuhr and Asr prayers.
Benefits: … Although we recite this verse with the wording ‘itiyyan’ (عِتِیًّا), the recitation (qira’ah) of Ubayy and Mujahid is ‘usiyyan’ (عُسِیًّا).
