بَابُ جَامِعِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الصَّلَوَاتِComprehensive Chapter on Recitation in Prayers
Hadith 1613

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُلُّ صَلَاةٍ يُقْرَأُ فِيهَا فَمَا أَسْمَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَسْمَعْنَاكُمْ، وَمَا أَخْفَى عَلَيْنَا أَخْفَيْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, says: Recitation is done in every prayer. Whatever the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite aloud to us, we also recite aloud to you, and whatever he kept hidden from us, we also keep hidden from you. That is: In reciting aloud or silently, we adhere to the practice of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
