عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ السُّوَرِ فِي رَكْعَةٍ؟ قَالَتْ: الْمُفَصَّلَ
Abdullah bin Shaqiq says: I asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would combine multiple surahs in one rak'ah. She replied: He would combine the Mufassal (surahs).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The beginning of the detailed (mufassal) surahs is from Surah al-Hujurat or Surah Qaf, and this continues until the end of the Qur’an.
Nafi‘ says: At times, Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu, while leading us in obligatory prayer, would combine two or more surahs.
