It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that people were instructed to place the right hand over the left hand during prayer. Abu Hazim says: I do not know except that they attributed it. Abu Abdur Rahman says: That is, when narrating it as marfu‘, they attributed it to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
