Hadith 1544

(وَفِي لَفْظٍ) وَرَأَيْتُهُ يَنْصَرِفُ مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَمَرَّةً عَنْ شِمَالِهِ
And the words of another narration are as follows: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that sometimes he would turn to the right side and occasionally to the left side.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The text from the second chain of narration of this hadith is authentic. From this, the ruling is established that one should place the right hand over the left and bind them, and that the imam, after giving salam, may turn to either direction.
