بَابُ رَفْعِ الْيَدَيْنِ عِنْدَ تَكْبِيرَةِ الْإِحْرَامِ وَغَيْرِهَاChapter on Raising the Hands at the Opening Takbir and Other Times
Hadith 1535

وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ: إِنَّ رَفْعَكُمْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ بِدْعَةٌ مَا زَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى هَٰذَا يَعْنِي إِلَى الصَّدْرِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: Surely, raising your hands in this manner is an innovation; the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not raise his hands above his chest.
