Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Readers should keep in mind that Sayyiduna Wa’il bin Hujr radi Allahu anhu accepted Islam in 9 AH. He came again the following year during the winter season; this was the last winter of the blessed life of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. (See: ‘Umdat al-Qari: 5/274, Sahih Ibn Hibban: 3/169) He narrated the hadith regarding raising the hands (raf‘ al-yadayn) on both occasions. Those who make the baseless claim that raising the hands (raf‘ al-yadayn) was abrogated should take heed. This blessed hadith proves that there is evidence of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performing raf‘ al-yadayn in 10 AH, and in the third month of the eleventh year of Hijrah, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed away.
