Hadith 1456

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rifa’ah bin Rafi’ al-Zuraqi, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to the one who performed prayer incorrectly: When you intend to pray, perform ablution and perform ablution well, then face the Qiblah, then say Allahu Akbar. Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This is a lengthy hadith, which comprises several rulings and issues. In it, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has given the command to face the qiblah during prayer. The concerned person had not performed the prayer in a proper manner; therefore, he is referred to as "Musii’ al-Salah," the literal meaning of which is: one who spoils the prayer.
