عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا شَهِدُوا وَاسْتَقْبَلُوا قِبْلَتَنَا وَأَكَلُوا ذَبِيحَتَنَا وَصَلَّوْا صَلَاتَنَا فَقَدْ حَرُمَتْ عَلَيْنَا دِمَاؤُهُمْ وَأَمْوَالُهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا، لَهُمْ مَا لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَلَيْهِمْ مَا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they bear witness that Allah Almighty alone is the true deity and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah. When they bear witness, face our Qiblah, eat our slaughtered animals, and perform our prayers, then their blood and wealth will be forbidden to us, except by right, and for them will be what is for other common Muslims, and upon them will be what is upon other Muslims.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The explanation of this hadith has already been mentioned in Book of Faith, chapter number (9). By making the condition of facing the Ka'bah at the time of performing the prayer for the protection of blood and wealth, the importance of this obligation becomes evident. Among the religions of the world, designating the Ka'bah as the qiblah is a unique characteristic of Islam alone.
