Hadith 1424

عَنِ ابْنِ مُغَفَّلِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَأَنْتُمْ فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ فَصَلُّوا، وَإِذَا حَضَرَتْ وَأَنْتُمْ فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ فَلَا تُصَلُّوا، فَإِنَّهَا خُلِقَتْ مِنَ الشَّيَاطِينَ))
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the time for prayer comes and you are in sheep enclosures, then perform the prayer there. But when the time for prayer comes and you are in camel enclosures, then do not perform the prayer there, because they have been created from devils.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning of "camels were created from devils" is that there is found in their temperament aversion and rebelliousness, due to which the prayer can be disturbed or the worshipper may suffer harm. The Arabs refer to every rebellious one as a "shaytan" (devil).
