Abu Nazrah bin Baqiyyah says that Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is Sunnah to pray in one garment. We used to do so with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and no fault was found with us." Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "But that was when there was a scarcity of clothes. Now, if Allah has granted abundance, then praying in two garments is more pure."
