حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ: كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ يُخْبِرُنِي عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتَجَمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ: فِي مَسْجِدِ بَيْتِهِ؟ قَالَ: لَا، فِي مَسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done in the mosque. The narrator says: I asked Ibn Lahi’ah: In the mosque of his house? He said: No, rather in the Prophet’s Mosque.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … According to the authentic narration, the meaning of this hadith is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had cupping (hijamah) performed in a chamber (hujrah) in the mosque. The narration stating that he had cupping performed inside the mosque itself is not authentic.
