Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw some phlegm in the direction of the qiblah in the mosque and scraped it off with a pebble. Then he forbade a man from spitting in front of himself or to his right side, and said: A person should spit to his left side or beneath his left foot.
