Abdullah bin Amir Al-Hani narrates: Sayyiduna Habas bin Saeed Tai (may Allah be pleased with him), who had seen the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), entered the mosque at the time of suhoor and saw that people were praying in the front part of the mosque. Upon seeing this, he said: By the Lord of the Ka'bah! These people are showing off; warn them. Whoever warned them has obeyed Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Hearing this, the people went to him and took him outside. Then Sayyiduna Habas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: At the time of suhoor, the angels pray in the front part of the mosque.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … There is no evidence from the Shari‘ah texts for such a restriction that, at the time of pre-dawn meal (suhur), prayer should not be performed in the front rows. It is possible that Sayyiduna Habis radi Allahu anhu, due to certain indications, had a strong presumption that these people were indeed showing off, and therefore considered it appropriate to drive them away from there. And Allah knows best what is correct.
