Hadith 133
اُردوEn
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ! لَا يَسْمَعُ بِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ يَهُودِيٌّ وَلَا نَصْرَانِيٌّ وَمَاتَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ إِلَّا كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul! Any Jew or Christian of this Ummah who hears about me and then does not believe in that with which I have been sent, he will be among the inhabitants of Hell."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Since the Jews and Christians were People of the Book, and they already had knowledge of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) before his (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) advent, yet despite this, their not believing in him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is a grave crime. For this reason, in the blessed hadith, the Jews and Christians have been mentioned specifically; otherwise, any non-Muslim who does not believe in him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will be unsuccessful and deprived in the Hereafter.
